Level 2: Lindy Hop
Dancing to Slow Music (< 120bpm)
This class will teach you what to do when the music is too slow to swing out. We will be working on footwork, new rhythms, call & response, and moves that work well to slower tempos. Whether you are dancing to a gritty New Orleans tune or a jazz ballad, we have the moves for you!
Fundamentals of Lindy Hop (Level 2A)
The Lindy Hop is the original high-energy partnered jazz dance, invented during the late 1920s in Harlem and popularized in the '30s and '40s. During this four-week series students will use the skills learned in our level 1 classes as a basis for Lindy Hop. Students will learn the fundamentals of the dance, swing outs and other classic moves that made Lindy Hop so popular.
Lindy Hop Essentials (Level 2B)
Now that you know the foundation of Lindy Hop, you’re ready to kick it up a notch. In this four-week series students will learn rhythms, musicality and some of our favorite moves in order to swing out with confidence and style on the social dance floor.

Get ready to jazz up your lindy hop again! Learn authentic solo jazz dance moves and how to put them into your partnered lindy hop for that extra spice and authenticity. Great for anyone looking to get better at improvisation, musicality and jazzing up their lindy hop!
Next Steps (Level 2C)
Swingouts and circles are certainly the cornerstone of Lindy Hop, but there's a whole lot more out there! In this class, we'll whet your appetite for more Lindy by delving into many diverse topics that will get you ready for our Level 3 (Intermediate/Advanced) classes. Week 1 is the Shim Sham! This classic line dance should be a part of any Lindy Hopper's repertoire. Weeks 2-4 will cover more advanced technique and moves including Tandem Charleston and pop turns.
