Beth Midavaine
Beth's introduction to jazz and swing dancing came from the
movie "Swing Kids," and it was love at first sight! It sent
her on a hunt that lasted for five years until she found a local
teaching group focused solely on swing and lindy hop.
Since August of 1998 she has attended dance events all over the
country including Canada and the UK. These travels have allowed her
to dance and associate with legendary dancers and musicians. She
has added to her dance repertoire by developing a unique philosophy
and style of Blues, as well as learning other forms of dance such
as Salsa and West Coast Swing.
Beth loves to teach and pass on her passion for Lindy Hop to
others. She started teaching in 2000 (RIT Swing Club), and then
stepped down in August of 2004 to help found Groove Juice Swing and
has been an active member of the group ever since. She's thrilled
to be associated with these friends who are inspiring dancers and
teachers!
"Jazz is dance music…and if you can't dance to it, then it's not
jazz." - Wynton
