Stompology Solo Jazz Dance Weekend 2012 / Rochester, New York

Groove Juice Swing

Ross Hopkins

Ross Hopkins

As a student at University of Rochester, Ross participated in a number of activities, but only one actually encouraged holding girls. Ever since, swing dancing has been a large part of his life.  Ross is drawn to the rhythms and energy of Lindy hop as well as the communication that can happen within a dance. When he's not slaving away his weekends as a cook, you will see him on any dance floor he can get to in Rochester, Philadelphia, and even Seattle. Since 2008, Ross has been teaching Lindy Hop with Groove juice Swing, and continually improving his teaching to make the dance more accessible and fun. For Ross, every dancer is different, which makes him very excited when a new person walks into one of his classes, a social dance, or joins him for a little Karaoke afterward.
