Code of Conduct
Groove Juice Swing is dedicated to providing a safe and
comfortable environment for everyone,
regardless of gender, age, sexual orientation, gender
identity, ability, physical appearance, body size, race, or
religion (or lack thereof). Harassment includes offensive verbal
comments related to gender, age, sexual orientation, gender
identity, disability, physical appearance, body size, race,
religion; sexual images in public spaces; deliberate intimidation;
stalking; following; harassing photography or recording; sustained
disruption of workshops or other events; inappropriate
physical contact; and unwelcome sexual attention.
Harassment of any kind will not be tolerated at any event
venue, including dances, workshops, competitions, Twitter,
Facebook, and other online media.
We hope that our dances, classes, and events will provide a
chance for you to engage in social situations and learn new skills,
pushing you outside of your artistic comfort
zone. No other behaviors, speech, or actions that make our patrons
feel uncomfortable, threatened, or harassed will be tolerated.
Please do not offer unsolicited advice to other students in class
out of respect for their learning environment.
We reserve the right to take any action we deem necessary to
deal with harassment. This includes verbal warnings, asking people
to leave the event immediately without refund, banning
individual(s) from all Groove Juice Swing events and contacting law
enforcement officials.
Alcohol Policy
While many of Groove Juice Swing's events are alcohol free,
occasional dances will involve the presence of alcohol. Please
drink responsibly, which means committing to never drive a car
under the influence and reflecting seriously upon your personal
limits and how you may act while under the influence. Inebriation
is not an excuse for harassing behavior. Underage drinking or
providing alcohol to those under 21 years will absolutely not be
tolerated and may result in being banned from Groove Juice
events.
Reporting Harassment
If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being
harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact a
member of Groove Juice Swing or our event staff
immediately. If you notice any harassment occurring on or around
