Groove Juice Swing: Swing Dancing in Rochester, NY

Jasmine Mead

Jasmine Mead

Jasmine's first exposure to Lindy Hop was a YouTube video, and from that moment, she was hooked on the playfulness and athleticism of the dance. She took her first lesson from Groove Juice in Spring 2014, but it wasn't until she moved to Rochester in late 2016 that she started dancing regularly. Since then, she has joined the Groove Juice team to specialize in social media and assist with event organization.

Jasmine has a special place in her heart for solo jazz, and leads Cardio Charleston with other Groove Juice staff. She regularly shares her love of solo movement and creativity through solo jazz classes and drop-in workshops throughout the year. She occasionaly choreographs for Rochester's chorus line, The Flower City Follies, and she is honored that her most recent routine was performed at Stompology 2019

Jasmine started travelling for Lindy Hop in 2017, and has had the chance to dance, compete, and perform at events like O-Town Showdown, Swing Riot, CCX, Kind of a Big Deal Weekend, and Stompology. She is honored to have placed at Stompology 2018 (2nd - Solo Jazz Dynamic Duos) and Kind of a Big Deal Weekend 2018 (finals - Lindy Hop Mix and Match).

Outside of Lindy Hop and solo jazz, Jasmine can be found dabblinig in other hobbies like fencing and belly dancing, trying to learn how to cook tasty things, or on her quest to find the best espresso in Rochester.
